ABUJA: LOCAL youth have started plans to push for the recall Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Josiah Sabo Kente, saying the constituency had lost confidence in him.
The so-called Youths of Vision said they were dissatisfied by the continued silence of the Speaker in spite of the myriad of security challenges that have characterized his constituency and Wukari Local Government Council.
“Sequel to the incessant crises in Wukari LGA in particular, and Southern Taraba State at large, vis-à-vis the perceived role of the Taraba State House of Assembly under your leadership Mr. Speaker. The Youths of Vision, a broad based Youth Organization headquarter in Wukari, in her congress meeting held on 21st Sept., 2014 discussed on this agenda and unanimously agreed and were strongly convicted to initiate a process for your recall from the Taraba State House of Assembly,” said the youth in a letter tagged, “Expression of Loss of Confidence on Josiah Sabo Kente, Member Representing Wukari One Constituency.”
The letter, copied to Taraba State House of Assembly, Commissioner of Police, Wukari Traditional Council, Jukun Development Association and police, was signed on behalf of the Secretary by Aten Saudi Agbuzhema.
The youth added that people of Kente’s constituency had lost confidence on the Speaker as a Member representing Wukari 1 Constituency.
When contacted, the speaker told journalists the youth who wrote the letter were not members of his constituency but members of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
“They are frustrated elements who do not know the rule of the law.”
The Speaker enjoined his teeming supporters on the need to continue to hold tenaciously to peace, by avoiding acts capable of heralding restiveness in his constituency.
