Today at about 03:15 a business robbery occurred at a retail shop at the Mainstream Centre, Hout Bay, where the doors were forced open to gain entry to the shop. The Security Guards came upon the suspects while they were loading the stolen clothing into a silver Audi.
Hout Bay SAPS members was alerted of the incident and responded immediately, and a chase followed in the direction of Constantia Neck. The Audi was pulled over just before the Neck by Hout Bay SAPS members. The three occupants ran away and were noticed by Wynberg SAPS members who were also in the vicinity to help. After they matched the description that was given two of the suspects were apprehended and arrested. When the vehicle was tested, it was discovered that the vehicle was Hi-jacked in Milnerton on 18 April 2015.
The two suspects were linked with the hi-jacking, possession of suspected stolen goods and the Housebreaking (business). The ages of the suspects are 25 and 28, and identified to be from Cross Roads, Nyanga. Stolen items were recovered and handed in as evidence. The suspect will appear in the Wynberg Magistrate Court on Monday, 25 May 2015 on the charges mentioned.
