Kimberley police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after two females who are in their 30’s were fatally wounded in a car accident on R31 near Kimberley. According to our preliminary investigation it shows that the vehicle in which the deceased was travelling in got a tyre burst and subsequently the driver lost control over the vehicle and collided into a truck which was travelling on R31 direction Kimberley. The deceased and her passenger were also travelling on R31 direction Barkly West in a red Daewoo sedan. They were both certified dead on the scene. The paramedics had to use the Jaws of Life to rescue the trapped bodies of the deceased from the wreckage of the red Daewoo sedan.
The identities of the deceased are withheld, until their next of kin are informed about the incident.
The road had to be closed for almost three hours, in order to clear off the accident scene. The accident happened on Friday, 16 January 2015 at about 15:55
The truck driver and his passenger survived the accident without any injuries.
