Three Vereeniging Saps Members Shot and Injured During an Attempted Bank Robbery, One Suspect Arrested [press release]

Three SAPS members were shot and injured today following an attempted bank robbery in Duncanville.

According to information, it is alleged that members were responding to a business robbery and upon arriving at the scene, shots were fired in their direction by an unknown number of suspects.

Nothing was taken at the bank and the suspects fled the scene in a BMW getaway vehicle. The getaway vehicle was later recovered overturned between Rustevaal and Dumfontein. One suspect that was found inside the vehicle was subsequently arrested. The remaining suspects are being sought.

The three SAPS members are currently in a stable condition. We appeal to anyone who might have information that can lead to the arrest of the remaining suspects to please come forward with information by providing anonymous tip-offs to Crime Stop 08600 10111 or SMS Crime Line at 32211.
