On Sunday the 10th May 2015 the police reported the discovery of the boy believed to be that of a missing boy floating in a dam in a farm near Kraaifontein, in Wallacedene.
At the scene, initial investigation by the police indicated that the clothes the deceased body fitted the description that was given for the missing child. However, the police felt that it was prudent not to speculate on the matter, but conduct a further investigation in order to determine the precise identity of the child.
On Monday the 11 May 2015 an autopsy was conducted at Tygerberg mortuary and according to the report, no injuries were found on the child.
The family of the deceased boy also positively identified the body as that of the reported missing 4 year old boy, Bukho Mlityalwa. No foul play is being suspected at this stage. However, police have opened an Inquest.
The police management has expressed gratitude to the members of the community and all other role players who worked hard during the search to ensure that this matter is brought to its finality, despite its tragic end. SAPS condolences go to the family of the deceased child
