Police are looking for information that could lead to the arrest of three men responsible for a business robbery committed at the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) offices in Middelburg.
It is alleged that in the early hours of today, 13 April 2015, at approximately 03:00, a security guard who was working at SASSA was conducting routine patrols around the premises. When he went back to the guard room, he found the trio, armed with crowbars waiting there, they overpowered him, tied his hands and feet. They then proceeded to the building where they forced open the doors, went inside and stole computers.
In the process the guard managed to untie himself and went to the nearby traffic department to seek for assistance. When he came back, the suspects noticed him and fled the scene leaving the computers outside.
No one has been arrested with regard to this incident and police urge any person with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact Detective Warrant Officer Tobias Mogadima 079 878 7941.
