Cradock SAPS were commended by their Cluster Commander, Brigadier Madoda Zamkana for the speedy arrest of a suspect (22) in connection with the murder of the 6 year-old boy. This arrest followed after a six (6) year old boy was gruesomely murdered in Cradock. His body was found in the backyard of open premises in Lingelihle, Cradock,
It is alleged that on the afternoon of the 19th of January 2015, the boy was playing with a friend when they were approached by an unknown person offering them food. The friend ran away and informed the victim’s parents, who started searching for the boy’s whereabouts. When they could not find him, they reported him as missing person at the local police station.
The body of a boy fitting the description of the missing boy was found in the backyard of open premises used by the community as a pass-through on the 20 January 2015 at about 10:00. The body sustained several stab wounds to the back. The suspect will appear in court tomorrow, 23 January 2015 in the Cradock Magistrate’s Court.
The Cradock police would like to thank the members of the public who came forward with information that led to this speedy arrest. “It is through these partnerships and collaborations between the community and SAPS that we achieve greater and swifter progress”, said Brigadier Zamkana.
