Stalemates dominate SA premiership

JOHANNESBURG: DRAWS dominated the just-ended round of Absa Premiership matches with five of the seven contests ending in stalemates.

Only leaders Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates won over Chippa United nd Ajax Cape Town respectively.

Chiefs edged United 1-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium while Pirates were convincing in a 4-0 drubbing of the Cape side at Orlando Stadium.

Platinum Stars and Bidvest Wits ended goalless as did Bloemfontein Celtic and Moroka Swallows.

SuperSport United and Polokwane City also settled for a 1-1 draw, while champions Mamelodi Sundowns secured a similar result against University of Pretoria.

Mpumalanga Black Aces and Free State Stars were exciting in a 2-2 draw.
