SACCAWU wishes to welcome and congratulate the African National Congress with the overwhelming victory achieved in the 2014 General Elections. This victory with more than 60% of the voters choosing the ANC once again, like in our first democratic elections in 1994, demonstrates the confidence the majority of the population have in the leadership of the ANC to lead the country out of poverty and inequality and towards prosperity for all.
As we said in our campaigns material, much has been achieved and more still needs to be done. The elections are over now and it is once again time to roll up our sleeves and get down to do work to realise our dream to eradicate inequality, poverty and unemployment that are still so endemic in our country. We have a mandate once again! Let us leave no stone unturned to end corruption, let us leave no stone unturned to create decent work, let us leave no stone unturned to end poverty and inequality!
We also wish to thank all our members and workers in general who heeded our call to vote for the ANC, to ensure this overwhelming victiry for the ANC.
We further wish to thank all our cadres, activists and volunteers from within the ranks of SACCAWU who selflessly gave their time to campaign for the ANC.
Finally we wish the ANC well for the next five years and believe that the record for the coming five years will lead to further improvements to the lives of the working class and poor.
Together We Can Move This Country Forward!
