SAFA has lauded the recently ended FIFA-accredited referee workshop as a massive success.
The workshop which started from 4-7 July 2014 in Kempton Park, East of Johannesburg looked at among other things, the amendment of the laws of the game which will be implemented in the 20142015 season, practical and fitness test.
“We also touched on various ‘trivial’ issues which impacts on officiating and I must confess, the workshop was an immense success in terms of chatting the way forward,” said SAFA’s acting head of referees, Peter Sejake.
The workshop was attended by 20 officials and Sejake said it was a successful ‘get-together where great ideas were shared.’
“We have always strived to make our officials the best on the continent and recognised in the world and such workshops go a long way in empowering our referees. We have constantly provided top referees in the continent and global showpieces and we want to continue doing so,” added Sejake.
The seminar was conducted under the watchful eye of FIFA instructors Carlos Henriques and Lee Chong.
