The National Commissioner of the South African Police Service, General Riah Phiyega, together with the leadership of the SAPS, wants to ensure that the police who serve the nation do so with highest level of ethical and professional conduct.
It is therefore with a great sense of disappointment that we confirm the arrest of Colonel Chris Prinsloo of Gauteng FLASH. He was arrested last week Friday in Vereeniging for theft and illegal possession of 750 rounds of ammunition.
He appeared on Monday in the Vereeniging Magistrates Court and was released on bail of R5000.
The investigation started more than a year ago in the Western Cape and is continuing. We cannot provide further details at this stage. General Phiyega is very pleased with the progress made in this investigation and she congratulated the team for a job well done.
