Members of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the transportation of stolen vehicles across, smuggling of rhino horns and explosives.
The two were arrested following a high level investigation of a syndicate suspected to be involved in the illegal transportation of rhino horns, explosives and stolen motor vehicles through the Kruger National Park.
The two suspects aged 36 and 39 were arrested this morning whilst driving inside the park in two stolen vehicles. A large of money was seized during the search of the suspects stolen vehicles. Further investigations have further linked the two suspects to other serious crimes in Mpumalanga and Eastern Cape. Both suspects are out on bail for some of the crimes.
They are expected to appear tomorrow at the the Phalaborwa Magistrate Court on various charges including that of possession of suspected stolen vehicles. Investigations continue.
