A 31-year-old Zimbabwean national will appear in the Garankuwa Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22 December 2014 on charges of rape and house robbery.

It is alleged that on Saturday, 20 December 2014, at about 02:00 two suspects broke into the 31-year-old victim victim’s house, ransacked it and raped the victim. It is further alleged that the suspects robbed the victim from an undisclosed amount of cash, 2 cell phones, and some home appliances.

According to the information, the suspects and the victim’s boyfriend were at a tavern, and the suspects allegedly left the victim’s boyfriend at the tavern and went to the victim’s house where they raped and robbed her from the mentioned items. The victim managed to describe the suspects to her boyfriend and one suspect was arrested, one accomplice is still at large.

Police investigation continues.

HEBRON: Police have arrested a 32-year-suspect on 20 December 2014 for attempted murder. The suspect will appear in the Garankuwa Magistrates’ Court on 22 December 2014.

It is alleged that in October 2014, police received a tip-off about a planned business robbery in Hebron. On arrival at a place where the suspects were, the suspect fled the scene whilst shooting at police. No injuries were sustained.

On 20 December 2014, police received information that the suspect would be attending a funeral. Police proceeded to the funeral and the suspect was arrested.

OTTOSDAL: Three suspects, aged 22, 23 and 26 will appear in the Ottosdal Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 23 December 2014 for murder.

It is alleged that the suspects and the victim (26) had a fight near a tavern at Letsopa Township. According to information the suspects stabbed the victim with knives on his neck and head. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was certified dead on arrival. The motive of their fight is still unknown. Police investigations continue.

KHUMA: A 51-year-old suspect will appear in the Stilfontein Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22 December 2014 on charges of rape.

It is alleged that the suspect met the victim (37) at an open field and asked her to accompany him to the scrapyard. As the victim knew the suspect, she agreed, but on their way the suspect grabbed the victim and pulled her to a nearby bush where she was raped. The victim reported the incident to the police and the suspect was subsequently arrested.

Police investigations continue.

WOLMARANSSTAD: Two suspects aged 22 and a 26 respectively will appear in the Wolmaransstad Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 22 December 2014 on charges of rape.

It is alleged that on Friday, 19 December 2014, the victim (16) and her friend were on their way home when they were approached by the suspects armed with a knife and a screwdriver.

The suspects allegedly dragged them to a house in Tswelelang Township and upon arrival the victim’s friend managed to flee the area. The suspects allegedly raped the victim and the fled the scene. The suspects were traced and arrested. Investigations continue.
