Durban Flying Squad police and Inanda detectives arrested two men aged 24 during an intelligence driven operation at KwaMashu Men’s Hostel where they were hiding, for murder that they allegedly committed at Inanda earlier this month.
It is alleged that a lifeless body of a 29-year-old victim who was found with multiple stab wounds all over the body along the road on 1 January 2015 at about 06:00 at Mshayazafe area, Inanda. A case of murder was opened for investigation. The motive of the killing is still unknown at this stage. Arrested suspects will be charged for murder and they are appearing at Ntuzuma Magistrates’ Court today, 22 January 2015.
Separate incident, Pinetown police arrested a 30-year-old male for murder that he allegedly committed in Pinetown CBD. On 15 November 2014 at about 19:00, the suspect allegedly had an argument with Mthokozisi Ngidi, 24, who was buying from a street vendor along Anderson Road in Pinetown.
The suspect allegedly stabbed Ngidi on the chest and fled. An intensive investigation by Pinetown detectives led to arrest of the murder suspect. He will appear in Pinetown Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, 23 January 2015.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni applauded the police for the arrests. “We will make sure that we present well prepared dockets to court so that the suspects will face the full might of law for taking other people’s lives,” she said.
