Pretoria: Motorists across the country on Thursday heeded the call by the Minister in the Presidency responsible for Women, Susan Shabangu, to hoot in support of the fight against women and child abuse.
The Department of Women encouraged all motorists to hoot between 7.30am and 8am in support of the campaign on the same day as International Men’s Day.
The campaign called on South African men to say “Ro neta!” (Enough – not in my name), #CountMeIn against gender based violence and child abuse.
The campaign comes on the eve of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign, which is an annual United Nations event. It takes place from 25 November till 10 December.
