The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Mrs. Nomvula Mokonyane will attend a Ministerial Imbizo to address Soshanguve residents on the recent xenophobic attacks. The recent attacks on foreign nationals cannot be tolerated as they go against the democratic values enshrined in the Constitution.
The main aim of the Imbizo is to show government’s concern on these activities, as well as to condemn violent attacks on foreign nationals in the strongest terms, as no amount of economic hardship and discontent can ever justify these activities associated with these attacks. As a government representative, Minister Mokonyane will at this Imbizo, urge South Africans not to allow a few individuals to reverse and undermine South Africa’s historic achievements.
South Africa’s transition to democracy was one of the world’s most iconic testimonies of tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
