The Minister of Sport and Recreation South Africa, Minister Fikile Mbalula has learnt about the passing of John Shoes Moshoeu this afternoon. Shoes was a former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs player. He scored over eight times and was capped 73 for the South African national team.
On behalf of the government of South Africa, Minister Mbalula passes deepest condolences to his family and the entire football fraternity.
“We deep our banners for the fallen legend. His passing came few minutes after we laid rest the ashes of Dr Steve Kalamazoo Mokone and just few weeks after we bid farewell to Richard Henyekana, all of them have left marks in football that will ensure we never forget the rich legacy they leave behind. Our country is poorer without him,” Minister Mbalula said.
