On 02 May 2015, the SAPS will host the send-off ceremony of the “Open Doors to Freedom” Human Trafficking Awareness Campaign. This campaign will see members of the SAPS as well as the Open door Crisis Care centre conducting a 7 day walk from Durban to Johannesburg.
During the send-off ceremony we will have guest speakers from the SAPS senior management, NPA, Open Door Crisis Care Centre and the Ethekwini Mayor’s office.
There will also be a song item by the Durban University of Technology Arts Department, walkers as well as dignitaries from the various organisations such as the Embassy and Office of the Premier will also be present.
The send-off ceremony will commence at 06:00 until 07:30 and thereafter the walkers will take their position and start with their 7 day walking journey. This will be one event not to be missed as it promises to be emotional and meaningful to meet the objective that we aim to achieve.
