KwaZulu-Natal police request anyone who might have been scammed by a company called “Queen Estate Properties” in Cape Town for accommodation, to please come forward. Police are investigating a case of fraud which was registered at the Pinetown Police Station and it is suspected that there might be more victims who were scammed by this company.
It is alleged that the victim saw an aert by Queen Estate Properties for accommodation in Cape Town during October 2014. Arrangements were made via the internet and the victim paid the required amount to secure the accommodation. On 20 December 2014 the victim and his family went to Cape Town for a holiday knowing that they had secured accommodation. On arrival at the address given to him, he noticed that the premises were locked and it was under renovation. The premises do not belong to Queen Estate Properties and it belonged to someone else. Only then did he realize that he was scammed. A case of fraud was opened at Pinetown SAPS after he returned back from Cape Town.
