Mondlo police and Vryheid Crime Intelligence today, 16 January 2015 conducted an intelligence driven operation at Gudu area in Mondlo where they arrested four suspects. Police recovered suspected stolen goods that were allegedly taken during housebreakings and cellphones that were allegedly taken from the victims during robberies. Beds, headboards, personal computers and cellphones were recovered during the operation. The suspects will be charged for possession of suspected stolen property and will be linked with housebreaking and robbery cases that occurred in the area. They will appear in Nquthu Magistrates’ Court on 19 January 2015.
The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni commended the police for the arrests and the recovery of stolen goods. “We will work tirelessly to make sure that these criminals are linked to other cases and we hope that the arrests will decrease housebreaking and robbery cases in the area,” she said.
