ABUJA: THE National Population Commission (NPC) has launched the National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) in Nasarawa State.
NPC’s Chairman, Eze Duruiheoma, represented the Federal Commissioner, Alhaji Zakari Umaru, during the launching at Ibrahim Abacha Youth Centre in Lafia.
He said the standard Demographic and Health Survey have large sample sizes between 5 000 and 30 000 households and are typically conducted about every five years to allow comparison over time in the state.
He added that the demographic and Health Survey programme has collected, analyzed and disseminates accurate representative data through survey in over 90 countries in which Nigeria is among.
He said the commission is charged with the responsibility of collecting, collating and as well as to analyzing demographic data that the commission has been unrelated in its efforts to provide reliable, accurate and up to date data in the country.
