The Youth Peace Ambassadors Forum, Federal Capital Territory chapter has said it was joining forces with the Federal and State governments to curb violence in the country.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja over the weekend, Co-coordinator of the forum, Ambassador Kazeem Akande also expressed commitment to partner with the African First Ladies Peace Mission to sensitize youths against involvement in acts of violence.
He said the forum has agreed to mobilize and sensitive FCT youths in compliance with conflict prevention and resolution which is an important element of public peace and order.
“We believe that the youth are found more vulnerable in every crisis situation,” he said.
He said the forum would train youth to equip them with the knowledge and capacity to negotiate and foster a peaceful society.
While condemning the April 14 and May 1 Nyanya Bomb blasts, Akande appealed to the Boko Haram insurgents to release the over 200 school girls in their captivity.
