ACCRA: FIRST Atlantic Bank has embarked on nationwide branch expansion exercise.
The first in the series of the branches to be opened was rolled out at Spintex Road, a business hub in the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) of the Greater Accra Region.
The Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Bank, Gabriel Edgal, said the bank would roll out one new branch every month.
According to him, each suburb in the Accra metropolis, which does not have a branch will get one by the close of the year.
After Accra, Takoradi, the Western regional capital lately known as “Oil City” because of the oil production, and Tamale, the Northern regional capital will be the bank’s next port of call.
“We have set broad objectives to create an institution that competes effectively in the local and sub-regional financial market place in a manner that showcases the best of our collective talents,” he added.
“Our aspiration is borne out of a vision to become the bank of choice for transactions especially within Ghana and the West African Sub-region. This we believe is the start of our journey to becoming a global bank,” he added.
He explained that the bank was poised to champion the re-creation of the consumer finance market, leading a private/public sector partnership in supporting the acceleration of the country’s economic development.
