29-year-old Boitumelo Seoposengwe appeared in Taung Magistrates’ Court yesterday for the alleged murder of his 5-year-old son, Remoratile Sehemo. He was remanded in custody until Monday, 5 January 2015 for a bail application. The incident took place on Wednesday, 24 December 2014 at approximately 22:00 in Maphoetsile village, Taung.
It is alleged that the suspect locked himself and his son inside one of the back rooms at his grandmother’s place. According to the information, a few minutes later, one of the children went to knock at the room where the suspect and his son were. Seemingly, there was no response and family members were alerted. It is alleged that they peeped through the window and saw the boy hanging from the roof rafters. The boy’s father allegedly opened the door and ran away. The police were summoned to the scene where they found the boy’s body inside the room. The suspect came back later and handed himself to the police who were busy working at the scene. The motive of the incident is still unknown and investigation continues.
Wolmaransstad: The murder case against 31-year-old Baitere Leru was postponed until tomorrow, 31 December 2014 for formal bail application. He was arrested on Thursday, 25 December 2014 for allegedly stabbing his 40-year-old brother (Johannes Leru) to death with a knife. The incident took place at Tswelelang Extension 13. It is alleged the two were involved in a fight when the suspect allegedly stabbed his brother on the neck. The victim was certified dead on the scene.
Mooifontein: A 19-year-old Bojosi Mokaleng will appear in Itsoseng Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 6 January 2015 for formal bail application. He was remanded in custody for allegedly stabbing and killing Thapelo Mogale (14). Thapelo was allegedly stabbed with a knife on the back on Wednesday, 24 December 2014 at Deelpan village at about 23:30. The case against Bojosi’s 23-year-old brother was withdrawn. According to the information, deceased was found with a stab wound on the back after being stabbed by the suspect. The motive of the incident is still unknown.
