The EFF rejects the Police Minister’s Nkandla report as a failed propaganda spin. The minister and the executive are seeking to undermine the public’s intelligence with their conclusion that President Zuma does not have to pay any money, and that in fact he needs more money for security upgrades. The Public Protector’s report was very clear that the Minister of Police was to:
“Ensure that no further security measures are installed at the President’s private residence at Nkandla.”
Minister Nhleko must understand that what was expected of him, as a employee of Jacob Zuma, was not to determine whether the President must pay or not. He was not tasked to duplicate the Public Protector’s investigation and only to contradict her findings that the swimming pool, cattler kraal, amphitheatre, and the chicken run were not part of the security features.
Minister of Police would never be expected to investigate the President because of his position as his employee.
He could never be expected to tell his boss to pay for corruption. The Public Protector, an independent constitutional structure, gave him a simple task: to determine how much did the non-security features cost because the finding is simple – that will be the cost Zuma must pay.
The EFF does not buy all the stories, bioskops and cultural idioms used to cover up the truth. We warned long ago that the delay in publishing the cost of non-security features was because cabinet was cooking the report to try and protect the corruption of Jacob Zuma. These outcomes are however not to be believed because they are based on cheap expert explanations, unreliable wikipedia sources and low quality video bioskops.
The EFF remains steadfast in its demand that the Public Protector’s recommendations and remedial action must be respected and unconditionally adhered to.
The Public Protector said Jacob Zuma must pay back the money and for as long as this is not happening, the EFF will use every opportunity in Parliament to demand that Zuma must Pay Back the Money.
This open Sesame show that the Minister of Police and the cabinet has put up to shield Jacob Zuma demonstrates to us what they are going to do with Marikana Commission report. They will cook it until no one is held responsible for the lives that were massacred by the ANC government.
