The Congress of South African Trade Union thanks and welcomes the decision of the Minister of Correctional and Justice to decline parole to Clive Derby-Lewis, the killer of our late general secretary of the SACP.
We are happy that the man will remain in jail for the rest of life if he goes before he tells the public the truth, let it be he must die in jail and join his racist friends and brothers who killed our struggle heroes and heroines. If they are able to rest in hell let it be.
Derby-Lewis must just tell the family of Chris Hani and the public who gave them instructions and why they killed him.
The country is still bleeding from the pain of 10th April 1993 when Chris was gunned down for nothing. The TRC could not find out the reasons why Chris was killed and who gave instructions. That is why they could not forgive racist killers like Derby-Lewis. Terre’Blanche, De Kock and many other racist killers who did the same during the apartheid regime.
