The Congress of South African Trade Unions has received the saddest news about the fatal car accident which killed the President of LIMUSA, Cde Sifiso Maphumulo last night.
Cde Maphumulo was working at Toyota South Africa and has served as the COSATU Local Chairperson at Isipingo for a long duration.
He is the founding President of LIMUSA and we were looking forward to work him to take forward the working class struggle.
COSATU last week held a meeting with the Leadership of the Liberated Metalworkers Union of South Africa [LIMUSA] after the Special Central Executive Committee [CEC] took a decision to admit them in the Federation.
The meeting tackled various issues pertaining to their induction programme within COSATU.
COSATU expresses its heartfelt condolences to the family of Cde Maphumulo, the LIMUSA leadership and workers in general across all sectors of the economy.
COSATU will this week, at its Shopsteward Councils mobilize all workers to attend the coming May Day Rallies, to remember him.
Hamba Kahle Comrade Maphumulo!
