Pretoria: Communications Minister Faith Muthambi plans to appeal a ruling regarding the appointment of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) Chief Operating Officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
The Western Cape High Court recently ruled that the appointment of Motsoeneng was unlawful.
“The Ministry intends to appeal the ruling by the Western Cape High Court as we are of the view that another court may reach a different conclusion regarding the merits of the case, and will shortly be meeting with our legal team to review the judgement and to prepare our appeal,” the Department of Communications said.
The SABC is an entity of the Department of Communications.
