In a continuous effort to keep the city clean and hygienic, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality is extending the supply of the 240 litre refuse bins to the citizens of Boksburg residing in areas north of the N17 freeway.
As of 1 June 2015, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality will only collect refuse placed in these containers which display the EMM logo. Refuse removal officials will therefore no longer pick up additional refuse bags, branches or any other form of refuse placed on top of or next to the refuse bins.
The EMM has begun supplying residents in the area with the bins, free of charge, and waste removal services will be charged as per the municipal tariff schedule.
However, residents who generate in excess of 240 litres of refuse per week are encouraged to apply for additional wheelie bins at the Boksburg Waste Management Depot on Reservoir Road, Boksburg East Industrial area. Their contact numbers are 011 999 6277/5446/5310.
Residents will be requested to produce a copy of the ID document belonging to the Ekurhuleni account holder and their latest utility account (rates and taxes) when bins are delivered at their residential homes between 07h00 and 15h30, weekdays.
In an instance where residents are unavailable during the stipulated delivery times, arrangements can be made with the Boksburg Waste Management Depot to be delivered on the weekend.
