THERE seems to be no stopping to the Kaizer Chiefs juggernaut!
The Soweto giants maintained their healthy lead atop the Absa Premiership standings with another victory, this time at the expense of visiting Free State Stars at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Two goals from Zimbabwean Kingston Nkhatha, who made his critics eat humble pie with a Man-of-the-match performance, and Siyabonga Nkosi, were enough to hand Chiefs the three points.
What makes the victory against Free State Stars sweeter was for Nkhatha to silence the “Boo Boys” who have ridiculed him for his poor form in front of goal.
He reminded them of his ability by providing Nkosi with a precise pass for the latter to rifle home from close range.
Stars rallied back late in the match and scored through captain, Paulus Masehe, but it only proved a consolation as the unbeaten Amakhosi strolled to their 13th win in 17 games.
In other matches on Tuesday, the University of Pretoria massacred Polokwane City 5-1 in a curtain raiser to the Chiefs-Stars match.
Champions Mamelodi Sundowns moved up to second with a 2-1 victory away to Maritzburg United.
The Absa Premiership continues on Wednesday with the original Soweto Derby between struggling Moroka Swallows and improved Orlando Pirates taking centre stage at Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday.
Platinum Stars date Chippa United in Rustenburg while Biest Wits host Supersport United at the Biest Stadium. Mpumalanga Black Aces welcome Bloemfontein Celtic to Nelspruit.
