LAGOS: A prodemocracy group is organizing a symposium aimed at guiding the electorate in their decision making ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The one-day event, a brainchild of the HH Macaulay Centre for Advancement of Democracy, is scheduled for Abuja on Monday next week.
Olufemi Lawson, spokesperson of the organization, said the symposium was aimed at discussing the outcome of the 2014 National Confab and its effect on the forthcoming 2015 General elections.
“There is no doubt that the processes leading towards the 2015 elections have raised several worrisome developments and it has therefore become imperative for Stakeholders within the polity todiscuss the way forward.
The Symposium intends to look at how best the resolutions of the 2014 Confab can be applicable in the nation’s quest for electing the leadership that will pilot the affairs of the country for the next four years,” said Lawson.
Prominent scholars, activists and media practitioners are billed to address the event which will take place at the Lagos/Osun Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
“The general public are hereby invited to be part of this important symposium which is aimed at giving a positive direction to Nigerians,” Lawson added.
