The Provincial Commissioner of the police in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General (A) Mark Magadlela has expressed his shock regarding a heartless incident that took place in Mhluzi Township near Middelburg on Friday morning, 15 May 2015.
On Friday 15 May 2015, the police in Mhluzi received a complaint that 19 minibus taxis were set alight by unknown people. The taxis were parked at two different ranks, Avalon and Extension 5. Eight of the taxis were torched in Extension 5 and the rest in Avalon. The estimated combined value of the taxis is R11 Million.
“Up to so far it is not known who the suspects behind this senseless act are and we ask the public to help with information which may lead to the successful arrest and conviction of those involved,” said General Magadlela.
