ZUMA WANTS EX-WIFE DLAMINI-ZUMA TO SUCCEED HIM, CLAIMS OPPOSITION LEADER
Julius Malema, the leader of the South African opposition party, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), has claimed that President Jacob Zuma wants his former wife, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, to succeed him to continue the Zuma legacy.
Addressing senior citizens in Seshego, Limpopo Province, on Tuesday, Malema noted that recently, the Youth and Women’s wings of the ruling party, the African national Congress (ANC), had made calls for a female president to succeed Zuma.
Commenting that the Zumas are not a royal family, Malema said: “Now they want to bring Zuma’s ex-wife to become your president, as if this Zuma president is a royal family.
“They are not a royal family and anything that smells Zuma must be rejected by our people. Zuma is preparing to take this country and give it to one of his family members again.”
Dlamini-Zuma is stepping down from her current position as Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission after serving one term and is widely speculated to be a candidate to contest the presidency of the ANC.
