US Visa Scandal Lands Man in Court

One Lamin Sanneh was yesterday, 2nd December 2015, arraigned before Presiding Magistrate Pa Modou Njie of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court charged with the offence of obtaining money from seven people for the purpose of securing a United State of America visa for them.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge prompting the prosecution led by Corporal 3466 Sawaneh to apply for an adjournment to enable him call his witnesses. Magistrate Njie granted the application and adjourned the case to the 16th December 2015 and admitted the accused to bail in the sum of D725, 000 with two Gambian sureties.

The particulars of the offence stated that the accused, Lamin Sanneh, sometime in 2014 in Brusubi in the Kombo North District of West Coast Region and in diverse places in the Republic of The Gambia, obtained money from the following persons: Lamin Sanneh, Alhagie Sambou, Ebrima Barrow, Musa Cham, Ismaila jatta, Seedou Jammeh and Boto Camara, with the pretext that he was going to secure an American Visa for them.
