Parts of Dartmoor and Exmoor could be 'returned to the wild'
Parts of Dartmoor and Exmoor could be ‘returned to the wild’ according to leaked reports confirmed by Defra.
The BBC reports areas of land on Dartmoor and Exmoor, as well as Bodmin Moor, could see management and subsidies cut, allowing them to return to their natural state.
The Environment ministry has confirmed it will consult on the future of subsidies and management of the South West Upland.
But it says the motivation behind the plan is not saving millions of pounds by cutting subsidy and management projects.
