Geagea calls for a “white revolution” against duality of arms and corruption

NNA – Lebanese Forces Party Chief Samir Geagea called Sunday for a “white revolution” to escape the weapons’ duality and corruption prevailing in the country.

“Lebanon is living a fundamental and deep crisis at the level of the State’s existence and entity by virtue of its duality of arms and the confiscation of its strategic decision, namely the decision of peace and war by one of the Lebanese parties…with all its implications of distorting the image of the Lebanese State, undermining its credibility through double standards and violating its national pact and coexistence,” stated Geagea.

“The time has come to put an end to this duality, since Lebanon’s only protection shield is the Lebanese army,” stressed Geagea, highlighting the Army’s proven capability of preserving the security, sovereignty and safety of the whole nation.

In his delivered speech in commemoration of the LF Party’s fallen martyrs during a memorial service held in Mehrab this evening, presided over by Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, Geagea paid tribute to all of Lebanon’s martyrs who lost their lives while defending their beloved nation.

“The events of the past few days have proved that September martyrs are martyrs of all of Lebanon from its far north to its far south through the Bekaa, Mount Lebanon and Beirut,” said Geagea.

“Your sons have fulfilled their duties to the utmost, for there is no martyrdom more noble than this,” he added, addressing the families of the fallen soldiers after observing a minute of silence in their memory.

“From Fajr al-Ashrafieh, Ain al-Remmaneh, Zahle, Qnat to Fajr al-Joroud in al-Qaa and Ras Baalbek…a one resistance to multiple ‘Daeshes’ with different names and differing times, yet victory remains one and only, the victory of Lebanon,” Geagea underscored.

“Instead of allowing the Army’s liberation of the outskirts from terrorists to give huge impetus to the State’s sovereignty and control over its entire national territories, taking advantage of the popular, moral, Arab and international momentum…and instead of bowing to the high efficiency of the Lebanese army and its ability to defend Lebanon, we find some parties upset by the complete victory that the army was about to achieve, and some have tried to deprive the Lebanese of the fruits of this victory,” Geagea went on.

He expressed support to every investigation into the kidnapped soldiers’ issue, “without forgetting the last and most important part, namely unveiling who allowed Daesh to escape the grip of justice?”

“Some act as if they exist alone in this country,” Geagea retorted.

Referring to Mehrab’s Understanding, Geagea said: “Despite the wounds and pain, we have turned the page on a sad past that lasted for more than thirty-five years.”

“There has been a lot of talk about the Understanding of Mehrab, but what will remain written in history is that this was a fundamental turning point that has changed the climate for the better in an unprecedented way within a single society,” he emphasized.

“The Understanding between the Lebanese Forces and the Free Patriotic Movement is especially necessary for the true Christian-Islamic partnership that no one can deny because it affects the future of Lebanon as a whole,” asserted Geagea.
