Finals Day at South Pacific

John Green is chasing two titles with rain and a wet green at Fairy Meadow to be factor on Finals Day in the 58th annual South Pacific bowls carnival.

After near perfect conditions through the first nine days, the finalists will have to overcome showers plus a slowing green to claim a prized title in Pairs, Singles and Fours.

Taren Point’s John Green is bidding to win his 11th and 12th South Pacific crown and playing in the fours final this morning and the singles final against defending champion Cabramatta young gun Corey Wedlock later this afternoon.

Green is partnered by John Hills, Barry Martin and Wes Falconer in the fours and takes on Jared Hamilton’s rink of his father Warren Hamilton, Wayne Toomey and Paul Robertson who were all former members at Bulli Bowling Club.

Green must win one of his finals to clinch the Player of the Carnival award or Wayne Toomey, who made the singles semi-finals, will win the award. 

Brett Pieper and Scott Bateup take on father and son Glenn and Jordan Taylor in the pairs final this morning.

The singles final is due to start after 1pm. All bowls supporters are welcome.
