Star: Hannah Minogue will lead NSW at the Interstate Championships.

Talented South Coast juniors Hannah Minogue, Matt Sperring and Kirsty Higginson have been named in a strong NSW squad for next month’s Interstate Championships at Alexandra Headland.

Bulli junior Minogue, who is now based at Newport SLSC is captain of the 24 person NSW squad against Queensland on January 20.

The NSW squad includes Warilla Barrack Point’s Matt Sperring and Nowra’s Kirsty Higginson, while ex-Warilla stars Ben Carberry and Hayden White are part of the Queensland squad.

  Five NSW reps competed for Australia in The Netherlands at the 2016 World Life Saving Championships.

Queensland beat NSW narrowly in the 2016 Interstate series, while all representatives are in form following the   Summer of Surf Series and last weekend’s Interbranch Championships.

Each state is allowed a maximum 12 competitors in the Open and Youth category, with four U17s in the Youth squad.
